TRI-STAR CAT 55 Catamaran Design
TRI-STAR CAT 55 is an elegant cruising catamaran, designed for the owner desiring a spacious, enjoyable sailing catamaran. TRI-STAR CAT 55 is TRI-STAR CAT 51 with more engine space and the forward stateroom. TRI-STAR CAT 55's spaciousness allows for numerous owner layouts. The owner stateroom shown has access to two bath rooms one in each hull. One bathroom with a tub and one with a shower or an office-navigation room. Owners stateroom may be two staterooms. TRI-STAR CAT 55 hull is 82" wide plus hull flare and a sole that is 54" wide giving ample room for optional accommodation plans. The mast station structural bulkhead may partition the bridge deck off forward or the bulkhead may be open allowing those sitting in the lounge area to have a view forward. TRI-STAR CAT 55 has two large cockpits - an inboard cockpit with a large steering station and an outboard seating area that may be set up for dining. TRI-STAR CAT 55's lateral resistance is provided by low aspect ratio keels that give the hull a draft of 5' 6", Keels may be replaced with dagger boards for a hull draft of 3' 4", TRI-STAR CAT 55's auxiliary power is provided by two Z drive inboard engines located in large engine rooms at the stern of each hull. TRI-STAR CAT 55 may be built using either cold molded plywood construction or foam F.G. sandwich construction.
